As Paris reflected upon the one-year anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo attacks, an attack that claimed the lives of 12 Parisians, an allegedly ISIS-inspired hatchet-wielding man attempted to attack a Paris police station before being shot dead by officers.

The man, who was allegedly carrying a picture of an ISIS flag on his person at the time of the attack, tried to enter a police station in the northern town of Barbes.

He was waving a hatchet and had a fake suicide bomb strapped to his chest. The man was also allegedly screaming, “Allahu Akbar,” before being shot by police.

Although no innocent people were reported hurt in the incident the city of Paris no doubt remains on edge in the wake of this latest ISIS-inspired episode.

More details are forthcoming.
