Two Detroit police officers were shot and wounded in an unprovoked attack on Wednesday night. Both officers suffered injuries but neither were described as life-threatening.

60-year old Raymond Durham was taken into custody after a brief manhunt. Durham had gunshot wounds to his leg, an apparent injury incurred after his initial exchange with officers.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig stated, "Clearly, he was aggressively trying to kill our officers."

In a strange twist, sources are stating that Durham's DNA has been linked to the 2016 shooting death of a Wayne State Police Officer as well. Durham's DNA was apparently located on multiple points at that shooting.

A suspect in Officer Rose's murder was taken into custody but ultimately released.

A veteran Detroit police officer was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday night within hours of another officer involved hit-and-run that left a Florida deputy seriously wounded.

Detroit police officer Myron Jarrett, 40, was killed after a vehicle struck him while he was investigating a traffic incident.

The suspect, Steven Patrick Guzina, 54, was ultimately taken into custody.

Within hours of that incident, Polk County Deputy Sheriff Adam Pennell was seriously wounded after stopping to help a stranded motorist.

In that incident, a driver plowed into both Deputy Pennell as well as the woman he had stopped to help.

The woman was killed in the incident and Deputy Pennell seriously injured. The suspect in that incident has not yet been located.
