Woman Arrested After Trying to Run Over U.S. Capitol Police Officer


A 20-year old woman was taken into custody following a dramatic incident where she apparently tried to run over a United States Capitol police officer with her vehicle.

The incident occurred only yards away from the United States Capitol. 

The suspect, identified as Taleah Everett, allegedly was driving in an erratic manner along Independence Avenue when police tried to stop her.

She eluded police, made a u-turn and apparently tried to run over a police officer. She ultimately struck a police vehicle. 

A foot chase ensued and shots were fired; however, no one was injured. Everett was taken into custody.
