The Travis County Sheriff's Office in Texas is the most prolific decliner of detainer requests by ICE, recent data revealed.

Between January 28-February 3, 2017, ICE declined detainer requests on 142 criminal illegal aliens, according to data released by the Department of Homeland Security. That number represents nearly 70 percent of all declined detainer requests across the entire nation for that time period.

Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez has stated that she will only cooperate with ICE detainer requests under certain, specific circumstances.

In total, the report states that of 3,083 detainer requests sent by ICE to local jurisdictions, 206 were declined.
