Off-Duty NYPD Cops Save Woman from Apparent Suicide Attempt

A couple of off-duty NYPD officers saved a woman from an apparent suicide attempt off of the Brooklyn Bridge early this morning.

Officer Robert Faivre, having just completed his shift, saw the 53-year old woman allegedly climbing toward the edge of the bridge when he stopped to render assistance.

After the woman told Faivre that she intended to jump, the off-duty officer grabbed her and struggled to prevent her from doing so.

As this was occurring, another off-duty officer, Maureen Stefenlli, came to assist.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment and neither officer was hurt.
