NYPD Nabs Man Who Trolled 911 With Thousands of Calls Since December

A homeless man who police say harassed police officers and call takers with over 4,100 911 calls since December has been arrested.

Jeffrey Shankley, 53, was picked up after officers located him near Penn Station.

Authorities say that Shankley has made 4,178 calls to 911 since December 20, 2016. The calls ranged widely in content and often sent officers on pointless journeys throughout the city.
