Texas Senator Introduces Bill to Incentivize Police to Hire More Veterans

Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) has introduced the "American Law Enforcement Heroes Act of 2017" that would incentivize local law enforcement agencies in hiring more veterans for careers in law enforcement. 

Agencies that recruited and hired veterans into their police department's would receive a grant of $25,000 per veteran hired. 

Senator Cornyn introduced Senate Bill 583 on March 8, 2017 and it has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
