Charges of aggravated vehicular homicide have been filed against the woman who caused the drowning death of Metro Nashville Police Officer Eric Mumaw on Thursday morning.

Officer Mumaw and others had responded to the scene of an allegedly suicidal woman, identified as 40-year old Juli Glisson, who was in her car along the banks of the Cumberland River.

While Officer Mumaw was attempting to get Glisson out of her vehicle, she apparently put the car in gear and drove into the river. Officer Mumaw was taken into the water as well and subsequently drowned.

Police have stated that Glisson was legally drunk at the time of the incident and was also on probation for a previous DUI conviction.
