Good Samaritans came to the aid of a struggling San Francisco police officer this past Sunday after they observed him in a fight with an individual suspected of being high on drugs.

The incident occurred in the city's Richmond District after an officer confronted a man alleged to be under the influence and exposing himself in public.

Shortly thereafter, a fight broke out between the officer and suspect. Several bystanders saw the struggle and jumped in to assist the officer after the officer yelled out for help.

Another bystander recorded the incident on his cell phone.

Additional officers soon arrived on scene and helped take the man into custody. The officer in the fight suffered cuts and bruises.
