Charges Filed Against Man Who Assaulted ICE Agent in Austin, TX

Charges have been brought against Hugo Baltazar-Ramirez, 23, for a Friday incident in in Austin, TX in which authorities allege he attacked an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent. 

Baltazar-Ramirez, a Mexican national, had been pulled over by an ICE agent; however, when he was told he was under arrest and asked to come out of the vehicle he fled on foot. 

When ICE agents caught up with him he allegedly assaulted the agent, striking the agent's head against the ground multiple times.

The assault was ended only after additional ICE agents arrived on scene to assist the injured agent. 

Baltazar-Ramirez could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
