A Vancouver, British Columbia police officer is being hailed as a hero for his willingness to jump into a freezing lagoon to save a dog in distress.
Officer Peter Colenutt on Sunday responded to the scene of a dog that had chased a ball onto the thin ice of Lost Lagoon and fallen through.
The dog was struggling to stay above water when Officer Colenutt arrived on the scene.
Officer Colenutt immediately jumped into action, shedding parts of his uniform and wading into the lagoon to rescue the struggling dog.
