Orlando Police are mourning one of their own today after a 17-year veteran police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty.

Master Sergeant Debra Clayton was shot and killed outside of a local Walmart after she confronted a murder suspect by the name of Markeith Loyd. Loyd is suspected of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend just last month.

After the shooting, Loyd fled the scene and local police began a manhunt for the suspected cop-killer.

Later Monday morning tragedy struck the law enforcement community again. An Orange County Deputy Sheriff riding his motorcycle in pursuit of Loyd was struck and killed by a vehicle that had pulled in front of his motorcycle.

He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
