A seasonal employee at Tottenville Bagels Inc. who apparently refused to serve two police officers, and allegedly called them "pigs," has been fired.

The incident, which ignited a brief social media firestorm, angered many in the Staten Island community.

The owner of the bagel shop told the New York Post, "He was a recent hire. He worked here barely a week or so. We didn’t know at the time that he had any kind of problems with police officers."

The owner added, "As soon as we found out, we let the kid go."

Sadly, this in only the latest example in a string of incidents where seemingly rogue employees have refused to serve police officers due to their profession.
