A suspect has been taken into custody related to the Tuesday morning hit-and-run death of Cleveland Police Officer David Fahey.
Israel Alvarez, 44, was taken into custody after a passing federal officer noticed a damaged vehicle similar to the outstanding suspect vehicle parked in the driveway of a house.
Police soon descended upon the house and took Alvarez into custody. Officers even used the handcuffs of their fallen brother to secure the suspect.
Alvarez has a lengthy record of driving convictions including driving under the influence and driving without a license.
