A Cleveland police officer was killed this morning after being struck by a vehicle while assisting at a separate vehicle accident.

Officer David Fahey, 39, was placing flares on the roadway when the accident occurred. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene.

No suspects have yet been taken into custody; however, authorities believe that they may have located to suspect vehicle.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams implored the suspect to turn themselves in, stating, "Turn yourself in or we will find you."

Officer Fahey had been with the police force since 2014.
