Six police officers were injured and over 200 protesters arrested in Washington, D.C. during violent anti-Trump riots that broke out following the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States.

The so-called "antifascist" protesters broke windows and destroyed property in the downtown area of D.C.

Officers were forced to use pepper spray and smoke bombs to protect the area.

Other protests also broke out in several cities across the nation.
