A 29-year old man has been found guilty in the 2015 murder of Rio Rancho, NM Police Officer Gregg Benner. Officer Benner was shot and killed during a Memorial Day vehicle stop.

The jury did not take long to deliberate when finding Andrew Romero guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Officer Benner.

Romero had a lengthy criminal history, including a past conviction for manslaughter, and was wanted for failing to attend a drug-treatment program at the time of the shooting.
