Officers with the Benicia, CA police department purchased a new bicycle for a young man they found walking the streets late one night after learning that the man was walking two hours each way to work.

The man, 19-year old Jourdan Duncan, told police that he was saving money to attend college and that he did not have a car. He also said he did not want to burden anyone for a ride so he simply walked the 8-miles to and from work each night.

Officers brought the story to the attention of others at the department and they proceeded to purchase Jourdan a new bicycle to ease his commute.
