North Carolina Officer Shot, Wounded on Saturday Has Passed Away

Shelby (NC) police officer Tim Brackeen has died from injuries sustained in a Saturday morning shooting, police announced on Monday afternoon.  

Officer Brackeen was searching for a man with outstanding warrants when he was allegedly shot by Irving Lucien Fenner, Jr.

Officer Brackeen was transported to a local hospital for treatment; however, he passed away from his injuries on Monday morning. 

Fenner, Jr. fled the scene and is still at large.  

Officer Brackeen, 38, is survived by his wife and 4-year old daughter.
