Portland, Maine Man Arrested After Threatening to Kill Police Officers

A man has been arrested in Portland, ME after making a series of online and email threats to harm Portland police officers.

The as-yet-unidentified suspect was arrested at a local motel on Wednesday afternoon after making threats and saying it was "time for more police to die."

The threats were made via Twitter and email and were sent to Portland police as well as staffers at the Portland Press Herald.

The suspect's email threat stated that he and others were, "getting our Sig Sauer MCX .223-caliber rifles ready” to “shoot and kill as many police officers as they can."

The suspect also stated that a nearby parking garage used by police personnel was booby-trapped with explosives.
