A Chicago police officer suffered non-life threatening injuries after being grazed in the face by a bullet fired by a carjacking suspect on Tuesday night.
Officers had attempted to stop the suspect in the Far South Side of Chicago after seeing him in a vehicle matching the description of a car stolen earlier in the night.
Instead of complying, the suspect pointed a gun out of the car window and fired several shots at the officers.
Bullets struck the officers' patrol car, grazing one officer in the face.
The suspect was ultimately taken into custody after crashing the vehicle. A 9mm handgun was also located at the scene.
The officer is expected to survive his injuries.
