Arizona Woman in Custody After Allegedly Shooting at Officer With Rifle

A 47-year old woman is in custody after allegedly opening fire on a police officer in Bullhead City, AZ early Thursday.

The incident occurred after officers responded to a domestic disturbance between suspect April Dezerienne Silvis and her mother.

As police arrived, Silvis allegedly fired upon the officer with a rifle. 

Silvis then barricaded herself inside the house.

After a several hours standoff, SWAT officers used tear gas to force Silvis out of the home. She was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
