Suspected Burglar Found Dead After Homeowner Ties Him to Tree

A suspected burglar died earlier this week in Alabama after a homeowner found the man breaking into his home, chased him out of the house, and tied him to a tree. Responding police found the apparent burglar dead.

The incident occurred after homeowner Nathanial Johnson, 68, allegedly found Cleveland Gully, 31, burglarizing his home. Johnson chased Gully outside and after catching him used several layers of tape to tie Gully to a tree in the backyard.

Johnson called police and when officers arrived they located Gully on the tree, deceased.

A specific cause of death has not been determined, pending an autopsy, and no charges have yet been filed against Johnson.
