Thursday night's violence against Dallas-area law enforcement officers was an unconscionable act of aggression against both civil society and the rule of law. Make no mistake, this was not an act of protest. This was an unprecedented and unprovoked act of terror against the men and women of law enforcement.
Indiscriminate violence and killing in the wake of controversy is not justice. It's murder.
Violence against our nation's law enforcement community cannot stand. It must be condemned loudly, unequivocally, and universally.
The heroic individuals who died on Thursday night perished while serving their community. They acted with courage and selflessness in the face of danger and chaos. They were, and are, heroes.
May God offer protection to those lost, their loved ones, and a grieving nation.
