An Oakland, CA police officer was shot at while sitting in her patrol vehicle on an unrelated vehicle accident last night.
The officer was not struck by the gunfire but was taken to a local hospital for unspecified injuries.
The incident occurred just after 9:30 pm Saturday night when the officer, described as a supervisor, responded to the scene of a vehicle accident. While sitting in her patrol vehicle, an unidentified man approached her car and opened fire.
"Shortly after the collision, a male suspect approached the supervisor’s vehicle and fired a round striking the patrol vehicle," a department official said.
