Three people are in custody and a fourth is outstanding following an investigation into an alleged plot to kill Baton Rouge police officers.

Malik Bridgewater, 20, Antonio Thomas, 17, and Trashone Coats, 23, were taken into custody after a police investigation into a break-in at a local pawnshop revealed a larger plot to harm local police officers.

8 guns were stolen from the pawnshop but 6 have since been recovered.

A fourth suspect is outstanding and police are engaged in an active manhunt to find the individual. A 13-year old was also taken into custody related to the pawnshop burglary.

Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie, Jr. confirmed the alleged plot, stating that one of the suspects admitted "that the reason the burglary was being done was to harm police officers."
