Suspect Opens Fire on Yuba City, CA Police Officers After Vehicle Pursuit

A man is under arrest in Yuba City, CA after shooting at police officers following a pursuit on Saturday morning.

59-year old Dale Crittendon is being charged with assault with a firearm upon a peace officer, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon, among others.

The incident unfolded early Saturday morning after officers attempted to pull Crittendon over. The suspect failed to comply and led officers on a vehicle pursuit that culminated with Crittendon attempting to flee on foot.

Instead of merely running away, however, Crittendon allegedly opened fire on officers, prompting a return of gunfire by police.

A perimeter was established to contain him but Crittendon again opened fire, this time on SWAT officers.

A K9 was released and took the suspect into custody. No officers were struck by gunfire.
