A Chicago police officer is being hailed as a hero after rushing into a burning home and rescuing several people and pets from the raging inferno.
Officer Jennifer Jacobucci arrived on scene at the 2-11 alarm fire at around noon on Tuesday when she noticed the house was engulfed in flames.
Officer Jacobucci immediately rushed into the home and began pulling people and pets from the house.
She was able to save four people and three dogs from the inferno. Sadly, one dog perished in the fire.
Although heralded a hero, Officer Jacobucci demurred, stating, "I was just doing my job."
