San Jose police officer Michael Katherman, killed in an on-duty motorcycle accident last Tuesday, will be laid to rest this morning at 11 a.m. at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA.
Thousands of mourners are expected to turn out to honor Officer Katherman, a highly regarded and well-respected police officer both on-duty and off.
Officer Katherman was known for his generosity, having served as the vice-president of the Keith Kelley Club, a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping officers in need.
He was highly involved in assisting the family of fallen SJPD Officer Michael Johnson, himself killed in the line of duty in March, 2015.
Officer Katherman is survived by his wife and two young boys.
