An arrest has been made in the Thursday night shooting of a Warren County, OH deputy.

19-year-old Mohammed Abdou Laghaoui was arrested on Friday morning following a police manhunt.

Deputy Katie Barnes had responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in Deerfield Township when she came under fire.

Laghaoui allegedly fired an assault rifle at Deputy Barnes, striking her in the abdomen. The suspect also allegedly shot and wounded his father.

Deputy Barnes, 35, was a collegiate athlete prior to joining the force. She has been with the Warren County Sheriff's Office for over 7 years.

Warren County Sheriff Larry Sims said he expects Deputy Barnes to survive her injuries. "We expect her to recover from this. She’s just a very strong individual," Sims said.
