Georgia Officer Killed in Early Morning Vehicle Pursuit

A Bibb County, GA deputy was killed early Thursday morning when a suspect allegedly struck his vehicle during a pursuit, causing the deputy to careen off the road and strike a house.

Deputy Anthony "T.J." Freeman, 29, died of injuries sustained in the accident after being taken to a local hospital for treatment. 

Deputy Freeman had been dispatched to a suspicious vehicle call and upon arrival a car chase of the suspect ensued.

During the chase, the suspect's vehicle allegedly struck Deputy Freeman's patrol car.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Montavious Kinder, was taken into custody and is facing charges related to outstanding warrants and a host of other charges.

Deputy Freeman worked with K9 partner Bojar and initial reports have suggested that Bojar was uninjured in the accident, although he is being seeing by veterinarians.

Deputy Freeman is survived by his wife and two young children and was a 7 year police veteran, having served with the Macon Police Department as well as the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
