Ambushed Philly Officer Receives "Man of the Year" Award

Philadelphia police officer Jesse Hartnett received the "Man of the Year" award at the National Police Defense Foundation Awards Dinner on Wednesday.

The ceremony honored Officer Hartnett for his heroism in a January 7 ambush where he was attacked and shot multiple times by an Islamist inspired man.

Officer Hartnett, though severely injured, was able to return fire and chase the suspect, who was subsequently arrested a short time later.
