Deputy Injured in North Carolina Shootout, Suspect in Custody

A sheriff's deputy in Wake County, NC was wounded this morning after being injured in a shootout while attempting to serve a warrant.

The shooting occurred as a special operations unit approached a mobile home off of Old Watkins Road in an attempt to locate a weapon used in an earlier shooting.

The injured deputy suffered minor wounds but it was not yet clear if he was struck with shrapnel or debris from something a bullet struck nearby him. He was treated and is expected to recover.

Two individuals located within the mobile home were subsequently taken into custody. One of the subjects, Collin Stewart Price, 21, was identified by police as the individual who shot at deputies.
