The man responsible for shooting and killing Unified Police Department, UT K9 Aldo last week has died from injuries sustained in the incident.

David Shane Anderson, 36, allegedly shot Aldo in the midst of a standoff with police. Aldo would die a short time later as a result of his injuries.

Anderson himself suffered at least one gunshot wound during the exchange and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He died on Monday.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine whether the gunshot wound suffered by Anderson was a result of police gunfire or whether it was self-inflicted.
