A Cincinnati police K9 who went missing earlier Sunday has been located. K9 Yaro apparently left his handler's yard after inclement weather forced open a gate at around 2 a.m.

With the help of a watchful public and social media, Yaro was located about four miles from his home, unharmed. Police were contacted and the K9 retrieved.

Cincinnati police released a statement that read, "The Cincinnati Police Department is grateful for the cooperation of Ms. Heet, the public, the City of Fairfield Police Department and the Butler County Emergency Management Agency and our local media partners in the effort to locate K9 Yaro."
