Maryland State Trooper Injured in Thursday Accident Still in Critical Condition

A Maryland State Trooper injured in a Friday vehicle accident remains in critical condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. 

Trooper Ezra Ganeshananda, 26, was investigating another vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon and seated inside of his patrol car along the slow shoulder of Interstate 95/495 when a Mercedes struck him from behind. 

Trooper Ganeshananda's vehicle became pinned against another car and he had to be extricated from his patrol car.

The Mercedes was said to have been driving erratically prior to the collision with Trooper Ganeshananda.

The driver of the Mercedes, Prasad Yadavalli, 60, was being treated at a local hospital and charges are said to be pending.
