Suspect Sought in Attempted Murder of Salem, MA Police Officer

The Salem, MA police department has identified Jeremiah Wooden as the suspect accused of firing a gun at two police officers on Thursday evening. 

Officers spotted Wooden and attempted to make contact with him because he had five outstanding warrants for his arrest. Wooden fled on foot and when officers caught up with him a struggle ensued.

During the struggle, Wooden pulled a gun from his pocket and fired at both officers. Neither officer was struck.

Wooden was able to escape and a police manhunt is currently underway to locate him. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder of a police officer and should be considered armed and dangerous.
