A Florida man bit off more than he could chew when he attempted to use his pit bull to attack Riviera Beach police officers.
The dog instead bit his owner in the buttocks, the New York Daily News reported.
Officers investigating a nearby burglary approached the suspect, Avery Davis, 26, and tried to speak with him. Davis, who was accompanied by his pet pit bull, was ordered to the ground.
After complying with the officers' orders, Davis allegedly told them, "y'all gonna have to kill us."
He then ordered his pit bull to attack the officers.
Perhaps sensing the imprudence of his owner's command, the dog instead turned on Davis and bit him in the buttocks.
The dog also tried to bite Davis in the head, per police.
Davis fled on foot but he would be apprehended shortly thereafter.
After he was released from the hospital for treatment of his wounds, Davis was booked on charges of resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer.
