Massachusetts Officer Stabbed in Neck While Responding to Disturbance Call



A police officer in South Hadley, MA was stabbed in the neck on Friday night after responding to a disturbance call at a local business.

The officer responded to a disturbance call at a Dunkin' Donuts at around 7 p.m. and when he arrived he was immediately assaulted by Jeffrey Torres, 29. After being stabbed, the officer withdrew his service weapon and fired three shots at Torres, striking him twice.

Both the officer and Torres were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The officer was released but Torres remained hospitalized, although he is expected to survive.
