NYPD cops from Brooklyn's 90th precinct found something unexpected when they responded to a call of an abandoned suitcase in a parking lot near the Williamsburg Bridge: 7 abandoned kittens.

The kittens were shoved into a sealed suitcase. One of the kittens was deceased but the 6 others were rescued by responding officers and brought to a local veterinarian for treatment.

Surveillance footage of the parking lot showed a man hurl the suitcase over a wall and into the parking lot early in the morning before the kittens were rescued.

Officer Nicole Piridis, one of the officers to respond that day, hopes to adopt one of the kittens herself and the others are currently in the custody of the ASPCA and will eventually be adopted.
