Two Schaumburg (IL) police officers are being credited with saving the life of a choking 19-month-old child on Tuesday.
After the child's grandmother noticed her in apparent distress while driving home to Chicago she pulled over and called 911. Two officers with the Schaumburg police department arrived on scene and immediately began performing CPR. A check of the child's airway found her to be choking.
After the officers removed the obstruction the child began to breath on her own. Paramedics were then summoned to the scene but the child appeared to have fully recovered.
