PA Police Officer Shot, Injured While Serving Warrant Related to Murder Investigation



An investigation into the murder of a woman over the weekend has left one Allentown, PA police officer shot. He is expected to survive.

The investigation began after officers discovered a woman’s body stuffed inside of a recycling bin on Sunday. The woman had been shot to death.

On Tuesday evening, as officers were attempting to serve a search warrant connected to the woman’s murder they were met with gunfire.

One officer was struck in the arm and transported to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are described as non-life threatening. 

Officers returned fire and injured the suspect, who was taken into custody.
