Two men are in custody related to the Saturday night shooting of a Clarksdale, Mississippi police officer.

Corporal Derrick Couch had been investigating an armed robbery when he located two suspects matching the description of the perpetrators.

When Cpl. Couch confronted the men he was shot in the face. Both suspects fled on foot.

One of the suspects, a 19-year old, was turned in to police by his father on Sunday. A second suspect was reportedly also now in custody.

Cpl. Couch has undergone multiple surgeries and is still listed in critical condition at Regional Medical Center. The bullet is apparently still lodged in his head and he has lost an eye as a result of the shooting.
