Maryland Deputy Critically Injured by Shotgun Blast

A Queen Anne's County Sheriff's (MD) Deputy is in critical condition following a shootout with a domestic violence suspect early Thursday morning. 

Deputy First Class Warren Hogan, 32, was wounded by a shotgun blast after responding to a domestic violence call in the town of Chestertown, MD. 

The suspect, identified as James Rich, 52, was struck by return gunfire from Deputy Hogan. Rich was transported to a local hospital and died of his wounds.
