A suspect has been arrested in the Tuesday shooting of Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose, 29.
Officer Rose was in critical condition and on life support after the shooting, according to authorities.
The unidentified 31-year old man in custody apparently has a long record of violence, including two charges of felony assault on a police officer, causing injury, in 2011.
The suspect also faced assault charges involving a dangerous weapon and resisting/obstructing/assaulting a peace officer back in 2009.
Officer Rose, who is slated to be married in early 2017, was in "grave condition," according to Wayne State University Police Chief Anthony Holt.
