St. Louis County Police Officer Shot, Killed in Thursday Morning Shootout

A St. Louis County police officer has died from injuries sustained in a shootout Thursday morning. 

Officer Blake Snyder, 33, and his partner had responded to a disturbance call in the 10700 block of Arno Drive when they encountered the suspect seated in the driver's side of a vehicle. 

Almost immediately, the suspect opened fire on Officer Snyder. Snyder's partner returned fire, wounding the 18-year old suspect. 

Officer Snyder did from his injuries. He was a four year veteran of the force and leaves behind a wife and young child.
