The Los Angeles Police Department released surveillance video depicting the moments before the fatal police-shooting of Carnell Snell, Jr.
The video appears to show Snell running from police while holding a gun in his hand.
The video appears to contradict a narrative that Snell was unarmed at the time of his death.
Protests erupted across southern California in the wake of the shooting.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said, "My huge concern is that the dueling narratives further divide the community."
