A suspect is in custody related to the shooting death of a Wisconsin sheriff's deputy late Saturday night.
Rusk County Sheriff's Deputy Dan Glaze was shot and killed as he responded to a suspicious vehicle event.
Authorities identified Doug Nitek, 43, as the suspect in the shooting and tracked him down to an undisclosed location by Sunday morning.
After exchanging gunfire with the deputies attempting to take him into custody, Nitek was arrested without further incident.
Deputy Glaze, 33, was a 7-year veteran law enforcement officer.
Deputy Glaze was the 48th police officer killed by gunfire so far in 2016, a 55% increase from 2015.
