After the story of a 9-month old husky named Sarah, who was rescued and her owner arrested for allegedly beating the dog, became public, there was no shortage of people who offered to give the dog a new home.

Among those offering to provide a home for Sarah were the officers of the Northeastern University Police Department.

The department tweeted, "Not for nothing @CityOfBoston & @marty_walsh but we here @ NUPD would LOVE to give this special #Husky a home w/ us - temp or permanently!"

No word yet on who might be taking custody of Sarah but it seems like there remains a standing offer from the NU Police Department!
