State Police in West Virginia have shot and killed a man they said pointed a shotgun at officers late Friday.
The incident occurred in the town of Elkins as West Virginia State Troopers helped local officers serve a search warrant.
When the troopers made entry into the house they encountered a man identified as William Keith Waldron. Waldron allegedly pointed a shotgun at the troopers and the troopers responded with gunfire.
Waldron was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A departmental investigation is under way into the shooting.
